Your Child in PE
Things to Remember
Events This Year
This year in PE, your child will be participating in numerous activities and special events...
- Your child will participate in our Physical Education classes twice a week for 45 minutes each day, totaling 90 minutes per week.
- We want your child to understand the importance of physical activity, having a positive mental attitude, and leading an active & healthy lifestyle. Having a healthy lifestyle will increase your child's performance in the classroom and in everyday life.
- Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all students at each grade level, while providing them a multitude of physical experiences. Our program also supports socialization, promotes sportsmanship, develops teamwork, and motivates children to participate in a variety of physical activities in and out of the PE classroom.
- Our ultimate goal is to provide students the movement concepts, fundamental skills, fitness concepts, and game play rules and etiquette so they feel comfortable and confident to participate in a variety of physical activities. We want students to make the choice to be physically active now and for a lifetime!
Things to Remember
- Students should come prepared for physical activity. We ask that all children wear appropriate clothing so they can participate fully in the program. Fulton County dress code prohibits wearing short shorts, spaghetti strap tank tops, and flip flops. Acceptable clothing items include regular shorts, pants, shirts, socks, and tennis shoes. If your child is wearing clothing that is deemed inappropriate, he/she will not participate in the physical activities that day. Hats are acceptable only on Spirit Days and Field Days.
- If, for any reason, your child cannot participate in PE, it is very important that we hear from you. Please send us an email or a letter (attention PE Dept.) so we can accommodate your child and document it for our records.
